LOOKS AND SOUNDS

Refuse a letter you don’t want,
Put refuse in the litter bin;
Each ref-word is a homonym.

Seek hangers on a wardrobe rail,
Find hangars on an aerodrome;
Each hang-word is a homophone.

The first pair clearly look the same,
The second share a common sound;
Each pair has different meanings found.
